Join us on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for our annual virtual Mini Summit!This year we are exploring "Rooted in Relations(hip): community development as a daily practice of shared strengths, imagination and connection for moving vision to action." Over the course of three hours we bring together Community Development Practitioners from across Alberta for shared learning and connection. Students, paid, unpaid, volunteer, academics, all community-minded people are welcome.We look forward to having a wide variety of hosted sessions sharing approaches, successes, challenges, favourite tools, and important conversations! We know community development practitioners are busy - sessions are virtual and you are welcome to register to attend and log in or out as needed.Tentative Session Schedule 9 am - 9:25 am - Opening 9:25 am - 10:15 am - Block One 1) From sorrow to solidarity: Honouring ecological grief and anxiety to nurture community resilience ( Stephanie Olsen &amp; Jodi Lammiman - Refugia Retreats) 2) Using the Global Impact Leadership Framework of the book: Provocateurs not Philanthropists: Turning Good Intentions into Global Impact, participants begin to reflect on their leadership assumptions, expectations, and styles to account for the changing dynamics in the field and the the systems renewal for effective community development.( Maiden Manzanal-Frank - GlobalStakes Consulting) 10:25 am - 11:15 am - Block Two 1) Deep Listening in Practice ( Gerlandine Ysselstein - Riverstone) 2) Reflective Practice (Victoria - CDLI) 11:25 am - 12:15 pm - Block Three 1) Building a 4th Space: Cultivating a sense of community within (Trisha) 2) Challenge Accepted: Igniting Your Resilience with Real-World Tools (Sheliza Kassam - Children's Birthday Miracles) 12:15 pm - 12:30 pm Closing We will be posting more about what sessions you can expect <a href="https://www.calgarycdli.com/mini-summit-2025" title="https://www.calgarycdli.com/mini-summit-2025" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">on our website</a> as we get closer to the gathering!
