Community Fun Day

VTRA is a non-profit charitable organization that uses equine-assisted services as a therapeutic aid for children and adults of diverse abilities throughout Greater Victoria. VTRA is supported by a small staff and a team of more than 200 dedicated volunteers, as well as a dozen horses.  Equine-assisted services helps improve the cognitive, physical, and emotional wellbeing of children and adults with diverse abilities.V﻿TRA offers a variety of volunteer positions and they do not all require horse experience. Volunteering with VTRA provides a fun opportunity to support participants in their equine activities, gain new skills, and develop lifelong friendships.VTRA respectfully acknowledges that we operate on the traditional territories of the Lkwungen (Esquimalt and Songhees) and W̱SÁNEĆ (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples. We are grateful to be able to teach, play and learn on these beautiful lands.

Drop in to paint your own real horseshoe (and bring it home), try our MiraColt, Western Canada’s first mechanical horse, and learn how VTRA supports individuals and families through therapeutic riding programs and other equine‑assisted services.This hands‑on, family‑friendly event is perfect for all ages. While your horseshoe dries, be sure to step into the gallery and explore the Wild Art for the Big of Heart sculptures.Come create, connect, and discover how VTRA makes a difference in the community, everyone is welcome!FREE EVENT - NO REGISTRATION NEEDED
