Join us for the special get-together around the table, where stories about food are shared and memories are evoked.
The purpose of these events is to bring everyone together at “The Community Table,” and the goal is to build strong connections through food.
- At this event, each person must bring one dish with a recipe. If you are bringing a family member or a friend, please get a separate ticket for them. They will also be required to bring a dish. Bring a medium-sized dish so everyone can try a bite of food. I will send the sign-up sheet a few days before the event.
- Cook or bake something close to your heart, maybe something your mom or grandmother made. It could be something your family loves or a dish with a special story behind it. We will all be sitting together, eating and connecting while sharing the story about our culture and traditions. If nothing comes up, just bring something you like to eat and share.
- Serving: Bring your finished dish in a nice plate, bowl, or platter. Let your creative juices flow; the food you choose is important, and it deserves the best treatment for display. Everyone attending: your dish will be entered into a special prize!! If you need to reheat the food, we have access to the kitchen.
Important Note: Please bring a plate, a spoon, a cup, and a small bowl to eat all the delicious food prepared by all the amazing cooks.
All products made for the event MUST be TREE NUT and PEANUT-FREE. If you have any other allergies, please contact us. We will do our best to accommodate that.
Only RSVP if you are committed, as spots are limited. We will be meeting at the Red Barn, right beside the community garden plots. It's an indoor event.
This event is made possible by the Neighbourhood Small Grant and with the collaboration of The Sharing Farm Society.
