GTA Stem & Buds

A Computer Science workshop for ages 9 to 13, where attendees will learn about the basics of coding and engage in various activities.

GTA STEM and Buds is holding our very first Computer Science workshop for students in grades 5-8 interested in learning computer science. We have put together a team that is very experienced with computer science and is passionate about spreading their knowledge to others. Due to current circumstances, we understand that students may be behind in their STEM development and that is why we are hosting this awesome event. In this workshop, attendees will be immersed into the world of computer science and explore it&#x27;s different concepts through hands on activities.
- The introduction presentation will expose attended to the basics of coding and computer science theory
- Attendees will then breakout into separate rooms according to their age group (ages 9-11 and ages 11 -13)
- Attendees will create their own Google Doodle as our workshop coordinators walk them through the process
- Attendees will participate in a fun coding activity called &quot;Binary Bracelets&quot; where they can create their very own, custom-made bracelet
- Lastly, there will be a final competition, in which the winner will get some super special rewards!
