Established in 1995, PacificSport Vancouver Island is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing sport participation for all ages and abilities through theCanadian Sport for Life(CS4L) program.  From grassroots, community sport day camps to high performance athlete development, PacificSport Vancouver Island inspires and engages our community to excel at sport and be active for life.

Concussion Management
This 2 hour workshop is led by a Registered Physiotherapist and provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of best practices in concussion management. Participants will gain a greater understanding of recognition and management principles around concussion injuries.
Participants will review injury mechanisms, on-field assessment techniques, the use of Sideline Concussion Tools (such as the Pocket Concussion Recognition Tool and SCAT3), signs &amp; symptoms, concussion “red-flags”, and current best-practices surrounding return-to-play decisions and protocol. There will be a designated time at the end of the presentation for questions and sport-specific inquiries.
*This course has been approved for 2.0 BCRPA,  2.0 PD/A2 CMTBC, and 2.0 PD NCCP Continuing Education Credits*
