St. Vital Park Picnic Shelter

<h1>On Sunday, February 13th</h1><h1>We will gather around 11 am</h1><h1>With workshops starting by 12 pm (noon)</h1><h1>Running until at least 2 pm</h1><h2>St. Vital Park Shelter (190 River Road, Winnipeg, MB)</h2><h2></h2><h2>Join us for:</h2><h2>Winter Resilience with Leah Smith, </h2><h2>Wonder Walks with Mavis Lewis-Webber,</h2><h2>Outdoor Winter Art with Kisa MacIssac,</h2><h2>Skating on the Duck Pond, </h2><h2>Sledding on two huge toboggan runs,</h2><h2>Hot chocolate at the fire pit to warm up</h2><h3>(Beside the shelter &amp; washrooms)</h3><p></p><h3>         ** NOTE: **</h3><h3>Gathering restrictions will be observed &amp; </h3><h3>Proof of vaccination is required </h3><p></p><h2>In Winter Resilience with Leah Smith we will discuss what it means to be resilient, strategies for building resilience and the benefit of being resilient.</h2><h2>Blending exposure to the cold connection to the breast and mindfulness practises we will explore how winter can help us in strengthening our bodies and our minds to be empowered in the face of adversity.</h2><h2>Also in this workshop will be practical tips on the risk/benefits of cold exposure and how to grow your comfort zone with being outside in very low temperatures.</h2><h2>“Nature never rushes and everything gets done.”</h2><h2></h2><h2>On the Wonder Walk with Mavis Lewis-Webber we will take a walk and talk about how we nurture a sense of wonder in children in wild winters like ours in Manitoba.  The discussion will focus on the role of the educator/adult and what you can say and do to nurture this sense of wonder in the children you work and play with!</h2><h2></h2><h2>Stop by the Winter Painting station to get creative with Kisa MacIssac! You will &quot;make and take&quot; a unique work of art, materials provided. Art is medicine, art is peaceful, art is a way to connect with something within, and let all our stress and worries just melt away. Making art is a beautiful tool for self care. Kisa will share tips to paint outside, even when it&#x27;s cold!</h2>
