Container Gardening Workshop

67 Hillcrest AveMississauga, ON
Tuesday, June 9  •  6:30 PM - 8 PM
Overview

Join Blooming Boulevards and CVC for a hands-on workshop to build and plant native garden boxes that support pollinators in Cooksville.

About this event:

Gardening doesn’t require a big backyard to make a difference. Join Blooming Boulevards and CVC’s Sustainable Landscaping team for a hands-on workshop where you will help build and plant native garden boxes in the Cooksville SNAP neighbourhood.

Hosted at 67 Hillcrest Avenue, this interactive session will guide participants through the process of creating small garden boxes and planting them with native plants. Together, we will build the boxes, fill them with soil, and install plants while learning about how these gardens support pollinators and bring more nature into urban spaces.

Jeanne from Blooming Boulevards and Melissa from CVC’s Sustainable Landscaping team will share simple tips and guidance throughout the workshop. Participants will learn about native plants, why they are important, and how they can grow well in small spaces like patios, courtyards, and shared community areas.

Participants will learn:

  • How to build and set up a simple garden box
  • The basics of soil and planting
  • How to choose plants that work well together

This workshop is beginner-friendly and open to anyone curious about gardening. Whether you have a balcony, a small yard, or just want to learn something new, you will leave with practical skills and inspiration to grow more nature where you live.

This event is part of the Cooksville Sustainable Actions Neighbourhood Plan (SNAP) and everyone is welcome to join, whether you live, work or play in Cooksville.
