Copper Wildflower Workshop

Copper Wildflower Workshop

Two SmithsKitchener, ON
Saturday, May 9 at 9 am to Sunday, May 10 at 5 pm
Overview

Learn how to work copper into small sculptural forms.

This 2 day introductory workshop focuses on creating natural plant forms using a variety of copper forming and joinery techniques: fold forming, forging, fullering, veining, drilling, riveting and soft soldering.

Everyone will be led through a series of exercises to create petals, stems and leaves. We’ll examine a variety of plant forms, and growth patterns and look at the transitions between each of the parts. All of the individual pieces will then be assembled into flowers that have a convincingly natural appearance.

Participants will also learn how a two-dimensional pattern in a flat, rigid sheet copper can be stretched, pulled and gathered up to transform into three dimensional organic forms.

No previous metalworking experience is necessary.

Class runs from 9am-5pm. All materials, safety equipment, coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available in town / an indoor lunch area with a microwave and fridge is provided on site if you bring your own food. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. See you there!

COST: $500.00 per person (+ HST + eventbrite registration fee)
