The Kids' Guide to Canada project is a grass-roots, teacher-led initiative which offers anunprecedentedopportunity forevery K-8studentin Canada tomakea contribution of true meaning and value: to help create the very first multilingual, multicultural and interactive guide to Canada made BY kids and FOR kids.It was created with over a quarter of a million dollars of support from educational organizations, small businesses, and the Canadian Government, to help build a new era of “understanding, empathy, respect”. (TRC Call to Action 63.3)Teachers have restricted access to post student artifacts to the Kids' Guide interactive map of Canada, and the Digital Human Library allows teachers to search and find classes with whom they would like to connect. Weekly Special Activities add a bit of spice to the learning in this project, with photo challenges, class activities, live webcasts, and one Mystery Class Challenge every month.If you are a K-8 teacher in Canada, offer your students a chance for some deep rich learning, and join the fun! REGISTRATION SPOTS ARE LIMITED. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER UNLESS YOU ARE COMMITTED TO ATTENDING ALL 4 SESSIONS. Please do not take the spot of someone who really wants to participate. 4 VIRTUAL TEACHER MEETINGS at 6:30-7:30 Eastern Time Zone.
