Creating Equitable Communities: Leadership Summit

Creating Equitable Communities: Leadership Summit

Overview

Grow With Us - Network and discuss with leaders in St Thomas & Elgin County to understand how we can create equitable communities together

Leaders and community builders are invited to join the Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario in a leadership summit where we will discuss how, together, we can create and grow more equitable communities in St Thomas, Elgin County, and the surrounding area.

Attendees are invited to share a brief 2-5 minute presentation on what their organization is currently doing to help create communities that embrace equity and feministic values during our spotlight introduction. We aim to work together to collaborate on an action plan of how we can grow our communities collectively.

As part of our work, we have developed an Anti-Sexist Toolkit, designed to support organizations in identifying, addressing, and preventing gender-based inequities. During the meeting, we will review the toolkit, invite feedback, and create space for open discussion about shared challenges, community needs, and opportunities for partnership.

Our goals for this gathering include:

  • Sharing knowledge and experiences to support equity and inclusion
  • Learning how our work can complement and strengthen the efforts of other local organizations
  • Building partnerships that uplift community initiatives
  • Exploring how we can collectively contribute to a safer, more equitable region
  • Collaborate on an action plan of how we can grow our communities collectively

Lunch will be provided.
