The Bentway works to ignite the urban imagination, using the city as site, subject, and canvas. Anchored under Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway and guiding its complex future, The Bentway is a growing public space, and much more. It is a new type of civic organization: an independent charity and a not-for-profit, powered by vital partnerships with the City of Toronto, residents, supporters, artists, creatives, city-builders, and dreamers. The Bentway is a catalyst rooted in experimentation, demonstration, and regeneration; leading a creative movement to re-imagine the opportunities of urban spaces.Since Phase 1 of The Bentway – under the Gardiner from Strachan Ave to Fort York Blvd – opened in 2018, it has proven to be a vital public space, backyard park, cultural platform, connector for the western Waterfront corridor and a demonstration of what is possible. Be a part of the creation of a community-engaged window mural at The Bentway Studio with Julia Prajza!

Be a part of the creation of a community-engaged window mural! This Fall, CityPlace residents are invited to come together, share love for their community and contribute to a large temporary window mural at The Bentway Studio. Join Muralist, Lettering Artist &amp; Designer Julia Prajza and your neighbours in transforming the space in a vibrant and positive way.Sign up to attend a virtual workshop and discover new skills through creative self-expression. Participants will be guided through the process of exploration, brainstorming ideas and themes they would like to share during this time. Together we will learn basic mural techniques in order to paint a collaborative window mural as a group.This program is family friendly, for all ages and art levels. No experience necessary. If you’re not able to attend the workshops, you may also drop in during the painting days to participate. This program, paint and supplies are available to participants at no cost, as part of The Bentway’s Community Incubation Program.
