Creativity Workshop Series: Zine-Making

The Creativity Everything Lab is a research hub at Ryerson University, established by David Gauntlett,Canada Research Chair in Creativity. Creativity Everything takes a deliberately broad and inclusive approach to creativity, connecting ideas from a range of disciplines, and seeking to embrace a diverse range of creators and creative practices.

Kendra Yee will teach participants how to make zines. Materials will be provided.The goal of the Creativity Workshop Series is to introduce participants to different creative practices, and make connections between the different practices.This series consists of four different workshops: beading (Jan 23), spoken word poetry (Feb 6), embroidery (Feb 27) and zine-making (Mar 13). We encourage you to attend all four workshops, so we can reflect on different creative processes, and foster creativity in multiple formats.In the weeks between the workshops, we will host a drop-in creativity meet-up, where you can continue the work you started in any of the workshops, or bring in other creative projects, while meeting others and socializing. Meet-ups will be held at the same time as the workshops (Wednesdays 11am-1pm) on January 30, February 13, March 6, and March 20.Everyone is welcome (from beginners to more advanced creators)! Ryerson students in particular are encouraged to participate.The workshops and meet-ups will be held in the Catalyst (second floor of the Rogers Communication Centre, room 230).
