Cultural Competency Workshop

The ICF Vancouver Chapter is dedicated to advancing the education, skill and competency of coaches, where ever they may be.Coach and client alike benefit from the professional services of their peers, so we are huge supporters of standards of excellence in the coaching profession.With this focus in mind, we hold a monthly meeting for our local members, webinars for all members of our community. We support online participation for our Chapter members in other parts of the Province, and in the country.

Cultural Competency: by challenging our own ideas around culture, we can build more inclusive spaces for our clients and coaching community.

<h1>Cultural Competency Workshop on Monday, May 8th at 4:00-6:00pm</h1>International Coaching Week features this powerful interactive Cultural Competency workshop designed by ICF Global to increase cultural awareness in coaching. The purpose of the workshop is to create a safe space where coaches can discuss and gain cultural knowledge and awareness. By challenging our own ideas around culture, we can build more inclusive spaces for our clients and coaching community. We will ask you to lean into spaces you may not have considered and help us design places of belonging.At the end of this workshop, you will have the ability to: <ol><li>Recognize the difference among cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity</li><li>Display personal cultural proficiency during coaching </li><li>Distinguish the six stages of cultural competency</li><li>Define intercultural communication and describe its importance in coaching. </li></ol>Facilitated by Nicole Beauregard, MCC and Stephen Hinds, ACC 2 CCE credits (1.5 Core Competency and 0.5 Resource Development)
