Who facilitates the workshops?

Accepted Answer

Lexi Salt who is Founder & Director of Leading Authentically. She has 12 years of experience in the Toronto & KW Latin dance scene, with facilitation expertise. As a white woman who dances Afro-Indigenous Latine dance forms, Lexi is intentional of how she takes up space on and off the dance floor.

Is the venue accessible?

Accepted Answer

The Visitor's Centre has parking with two accessible parking spots. It is a wheelchair accessible to my knowledge. We will be making efforts to make the space as accessible as possible to everyone (e.g. scent-free). Please email Lexi at lexi@leadingauthentically.ca for any accommodation requests.

Question 3

What is "Pay what you can" and where does the money go?

Accepted Answer

Everyone is welcome. You are not expected to, nor required to, financially contribute to attend. If you have the means, you are welcome to contribute (e.g. $5-10) and this will help Leading Authentically to continue this series in the future. We currently only have funding until May 2026.

Question 4

Is this a masked event?

Accepted Answer

While masking is not required to attend, we certainly encourage folks to wear masks and practice good community health practices. We deeply value community care & collective wellbeing for all people, acknowledging the disproportionate harm to queer, trans, racialized, disabled  and low-income folks.

Question 5

How do I get there?

Accepted Answer

If you use transit, we recommend taking the ION and getting off at the Uptown stop. The Visitor's Centre looks like a little red house beside the Clay and Glass Museum. If you drive, there is parking at the venue (free until 5pm).

Question 6

Can I attend 1 event or do I have to attend the whole series?

Accepted Answer

You can absolutely pick and choose which event you would like to attend & do not require any previous training! However, please note that the workshop lessons for salsa and bachata do build upon one another. Also you are welcome to attend the socials, without coming the workshops if you would like.
