<h3>Session 6: Data Visualization </h3> Thursday, June 12, 20259:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.Virtual workshop through ZoomCost to register: $80 per person In today’s fast-paced and results-oriented world, it is essential for nonprofit and charitable organizations to effectively measure their impact, track progress, and optimize program delivery. United Way Winnipeg’s Nonprofit Learning Centre is pleased to partner with the Canadian Evaluation Society, Manitoba Chapter to bring you a six-part workshop series on evaluation tools. Each workshop is designed to provide nonprofit professionals with the practical skills and knowledge needed to design, implement, and analyze high-quality evaluations. Each session is independent, so participants can choose to attend the workshops most relevant to their needs. Whether you're new to evaluation or looking to enhance your current practices, this series will equip you with the tools to make data-driven decisions and demonstrate your organization’s effectiveness. <h4>Workshop Overview</h4> Data visualization allows us to tell compelling stories with data – to show patterns and trends that we might not notice otherwise. The goal of this workshop is to provide attendees with information, skills, and techniques to glean insights from their data and to communicate them in simplified ways. There will be a mix of lessons, hands-on activities, and time for discussion. Workshop attendees will learn:<ul><li>Tips for choosing the “best” chart for your data.</li><li>Basic graphic design principles for formatting your charts.</li><li>Inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility considerations.</li><li>How to use Excel to create charts where the story “pops”.</li><li>Ways to visualize qualitative data.</li><li>Where to find and create icons and images and how to cite them.</li><li>The strengths and limitations of infographics, dashboards, and visual reports.</li></ul> <h4>Facilitator</h4><h4> </h4>Aynslie Hinds PhD Aynslie supports community organizations with their research and evaluation needs. She has been doing this for more than 10 years by supervising students working on projects, volunteering, and being hired on contract. At the University of Winnipeg, she teaches in the Psychology Department and in the Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) program, and she coordinates the Certificate in Applied Psychology (CiAP) program. In both her classes and working in community, she aims to make statistics accessible for everyone.
