*While there are some yoga poses in the program, we are just doing simple movements mindfully and with the breath. The practices can be done by anyone. Everything is adaptable to suit your needs and ability. You do not need any special clothing or equipment. No one will be pressured to do the practice, but rather invited to join when ready.Transformative Life Skills (TLS) is a trauma-informed, evidence-based, dynamic mindfulness program created by Niroga Institute. It uses simple movements and breathing techniques that develop stress resilience, support healing from trauma, build social and emotional intelligence, support professional and academic success and encourage prosocial behaviour. The practice is based on neuroscience, somatic psychology and trauma research.The practice has been used with all age groups from preschool to Elders for both prevention and intervention. The practice is effective in short periods (the research found 15-minute sessions, 3 times a week produced significant benefits for youth), but it is also helpful even just doing it for 2-3 minutes at a time when needed throughout the day.Day 1 focuses on the impacts of chronic stress and trauma, the scientific basis for the practice, and learning and practicing the tools for stress resilience, self-awareness, emotional regulation and self-care.LEARNING OBJECTIVES:Dynamic Mindfulness Foundations (DMF):&gt; Understand the impact of chronic stress and trauma on the brain and behaviour&gt; Utilize optimal stress resilience tools for personal sustainability and professional practice&gt; Understand the neuro-scientific basis of how Dynamic Mindfulness (DMind) works&gt; Learn a 15-minute DMind protocol that can be done by anyone, anywhere, anytime
