DECA Retro Dance Party

The Danforth East Community Association started in an unusual way. We didn’t gather together to fight against something — a development or city plan. We gathered to build something. We met around our dining room tables to share dreams of what our little pocket could be and plans to get us there. Our vision, from the start in 2007, was to make Danforth East a more vibrant, walkable, safe place.Since then we’ve launched a number of initiatives, and in 2017 were responsible for:our 10th year of weekly Farmers’ Markets from June – Octoberour 10th annual Danforth East Arts Fair, boasting over 60 vendorsour 9th annual Pumpkin Parade (thanks to Councillor McMahon’s support)our 6th annual Danforth East Yard Sale, with over 160 participating households and businessesour 6th annual Festival of Lightsour 3rd annual Young Leader‘s Scholarshipa number of neighbourhood visioning initiativescontinually connecting and informing our neighbours viaDECA Diaries,FacebookandTwitter

Join us on Saturday, May 26th from 830pm-1230am at the East Masonic Temple, 13 Chisholm Ave (Main/Danforth) as we dance this night away to raise money for our Young Leader‘s Scholarship! 
DJ Jamie will be spinning 80’s and 90’s tunes from vinyl all evening! There will be a cash bar, 50/50 draw and raffles!
Retro attire is strongly encouraged
