Introduction of new SCCC members

Kemp Kemp assumed the position of CFO for Volvo Car South Africa in 2016 and after 3.5 years, moved to Canada to assume the same position for Volvo Car Canada Limited. Now, after 8 years on the executive management team for Volvo Cars, he brings with him a wealth of experience in terms of how to drive results with a keen focus on performance KPI’s.

His scope at Volvo Cars extends beyond finance, including People Experience, Compliance and Ethics and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

 At Volvo Cars, sustainability is as important as safety. We aim to be pioneers in protecting people and the planet by working towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions, embracing the circular economy, and conducting business responsibly. We believe doing this, in partnership with others, ensures we help address global sustainable development challenges and support our profitable growth. Sustainability is central to our business and, quite simply, key to our future success.

Kemp Swanepoel, Volvo Cars Canada

Richard has amassed over 30 years of experience in software and communications, notably serving at Microsoft and Rogers Communications. Transitioning to the realm of start-ups since 2018, he's been instrumental as an executive, advisor, and mentor, recently bolstering his expertise with a Private Company Director’s Certificate. His versatile career encompasses roles in sales, marketing, product management, and business development, providing a deep understanding of technology commercialization and general business operations. Holding a B.A.Sc. in Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Richard's technical acumen is evident. Outside of work, he's actively involved in youth sports, volunteering for hockey and volleyball. He balances his professional life with outdoor pursuits like hiking, culinary explorations, travel, and reading, reflecting a well-rounded persona.
