When the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police set off a wave of racial unrest across the country in 2020, there was a swift response of renewed and public commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).Major companies created new DEI positions or expanded teams dedicated to DEI and the phrase quickly became a buzzword across the business landscape. At the time, the efforts were largely met with public support but nearly four years later, there is an active debate about DEI efforts.Join us for a conversation about the past, the present and the possible future of DEI. We’ll discuss what sparked the recent backlash and security over DEI, potential impacts of the ‘DEI is Dead’ rhetoric and share our outlook of what this means for people from marginalized communities and the leaders who want to build inclusive organizations.
