Methods and practices for creating human-centred AI products, services, and platforms in the public sector.

<h2>Program Overview  </h2><p>Design thinking offers a repeatable and scalable methodology for ensuring that products, services, and platforms create meaningful value for end-users. This program introduces Design Thinking through the lens of AI and machine learning to teach frameworks, tools, and best practices for creating more impactful AI-driven solutions. 
</p><p>This workshop is highly interactive and will challenge attendees to think critically about how AI and machine learning are used in the public sector. 
</p>

<h2>Program Details  </h2><p>Hosted virtually over two half-day sessions, participants can expect to walk away with a comprehensive understanding of how AI and machine learning work. A wide range of use-cases relevant to the public sector will be covered, including:

</li><li>Experience Personalization
</li><li>Predictive Analytics
</li><li>Conversational/Voice Interfaces
</li><li>Process Automation
</li></ul><p>From there, participants will explore the fundamentals of design thinking - adapted to AI and machine learning. Participants will gain hands-on experience with unique methods and exercises that can be used to ensure that products and services meet end-users, clients, and citizens' needs. Some of these methods include:

</li><li>How to spot AI &amp; machine learning opportunities
</li><li>Prototyping &amp; validating AI systems with confusion matrices
</li><li>Thinking about conversational interfaces (voice/chatbots)
</li><li>Industry insights roundtables
</li><li>Ethical AI &amp; responsible use of data</li></ul>

<h2>Virtual Schedule</h2><p>This training will be taking place virtually on Thursday, April 8-9, 2021 from 10:30-12:00pm and 2:00-3:30pm both days. We use a virtual platform that you are able to access from your home network. <strong>You do not need your corporate VPN to access the training.</strong></p><p>Schedule:</p><ul><li><strong>Thursday, April 8th: 10:30am - 12:00pm &amp; 2:00pm - 3:30pm</strong></li><li><strong>Friday, April 9th: 10:30am - 12:00pm &amp; 2:00pm - 3:30pm</strong></li></ul><p>You will receive separate invitations to all 4 sessions listed above.</p>

<h2>Your Instructor: </h2><h3>Ramy Nassar, Partner,<a href="https://www.1000daysout.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> 1000 Days Out</a></h3><p>Ramy is the founder of 1000 Days Out and author of the upcoming AI Product Design Handbook. As the former Managing Director of Design &amp; Strategy for Architech and Head of Innovation for Mattel, he has led diverse teams in the creation of disruptive new digital products, services &amp; platforms. 
</p><p>With a background in computer engineering and Design Thinking, Ramy has straddled technical, Design, and business-oriented roles, for clients including Cadillac Fairview, Apple, Air Canada, Facebook, New Balance, Rogers and CIBC. 
</p><p>Ramy teaches Design Thinking at McMaster University and in the Master's of Engineering, Innovation &amp; Entrepreneurship program at Ryerson University. Ramy is a regular speaker at international events including World Usability Congress, IxDA, FITC, AI Everything, Machine Learning Exchange, AI Business Summit and World Mobile Congress.
