Develop a creative writing ritual and start to integrate it into your life. Inspired by The Artist's Way, but with an emphasis on breath.

In this FREE INTRO to the 10-week series you'll identify the creative project you've been most wanting to begin, and then you'll have an opportunity to lean into those first steps: taking 40 minutes out of your day to begin writing.At the end of the session, we'll come together to discuss our experience.---ABOUT THE SERIESIn this 10-week series, you'll develop a creative writing ritual and start to integrate it into your life in a way that is both sustainable and nourishing. You'll start the term by choosing a writing goal, and then over the course of the program you'll begin to move through buried blocks to your creativity and create work that is meaningful to you.Each session, will include a <a href="https://www.breathexperience.ca/what-is-breathexperience" title="https://www.breathexperience.ca/what-is-breathexperience" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Breathexperience™</a> practice to help you to approach the blank page with focus and a connection to your body, a prompt inspired by the Artist's Way, and 40 minutes of uninterrupted space to:<ul><li>lay on your floor and write poetry,</li><li>get carried away on the adventure you’re writing about in your novel,</li><li>sit with your journal and reflect on your experience of the world and of yourself,</li><li>engage with whatever form of creativity is aching for expression, within you.</li></ul>We'll end each class with a guided conversation and opportunity to reflect on your experience.At the end of the course, there will be an open mic opportunity and a chance to share your work out loud with the group you've been writing with every week, for 10 weeks. ----FACILTATED BY CHRISTINE BISSONNETTEI am a poetry writing facilitator, Speech Arts Teacher, and certified Breathexperience teacher.The students from my <a href="https://9creativelives.com/classes/#POETRY" title="https://9creativelives.com/classes/#POETRY" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">poetry writing workshops</a> have received poetry fellowships, published chapbooks, won awards in literary magazines… and on many occasions those same students arrived in my class feeling blocked and unsure of their relationship to poetry. Which just... the opportunity to support students through the transition of 'not writing' to 'writing regularly' is so amazing to me.As a performer and writer, I’ve performed on stages all over Vancouver including opening for Danielle LaPorte as part of the Rise Women’s Conference. My poem ‘Rise’ (written for that conference) was later featured by Downtown Vancouver’s Poetry Phone in order to uplift Vancouver audiences at the start of the pandemic. Most recently, I was featured in episode 1 of the STORYHIVE funded ‘Heal Through Poetry’ series. The 8 episode series was released on Telus Optic and on Youtube on September 19th, 2023.
