Based on "The Chimes: A Goblin Story of Some Bells that Rang an Old Year Out and a New Year In" by Charles Dickens
Enjoy a traditional 19th-century country Christmas dinner in our rustic Cafe served family-style, featuring homemade soup, cabbage salad, pickles, local roast turkey, root vegetables, and, for dessert, mincemeat pie or plum pudding.  A traditional toast will be offered prior to dinner.  After your meal, head to our Trinity Church for a performance of The Chimes, based on the short novel by Charles Dickens. 
A Christmas favourite returns to Fanshawe Pioneer Village, this time imagined as a 1930s radio play. Full of song, heart and the Christmas spirit!
Toby “Trotty” Veck is a world-weary ticket porter who discovers the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of keeping up hope through an encounter with two ancient goblins who live in the church bells. The Chimes is a lesser-known life-affirming story of human kindness, from the mind that created A Christmas Carol.

FAQs
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Fanshawe Pioneer Village is located within the Fanshawe Conservation Area, entrance at 1424 Clarke Road.  Follow the orange signs through the conservation area and park at our Spriet Family Visitor Centre.
There is no public transportation to site.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds are not available.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
We are tree-friendly!  You do not need to bring a printed copy of your ticket with you but we will ask for your name, or the name you registered under at the Fanshawe Pioneer Village's Spriet Family Visitor Centre.
What is the nature of the event? 
This event is held in two locations-- the Pioneer Village Cafe and Trinity Church which are a short walk away from one another.  The path from our entrance and between these buildings are uneven gravel pathways. Come prepared for the weather and wear comfortable shoes
