Documentation That Actually Works
Documentation tracks growth, protects you, and builds better practice. Learn to write observations and reports clearly and efficiently.
Documentation in early childhood education is often treated as a burden — something squeezed into the margins of an already full day. This workshop reframes documentation as one of the most powerful tools an educator has: for tracking growth, communicating with families, protecting yourself professionally, and building a culture of intentional practice. Participants will explore different types of documentation — observations, learning stories, incident reports, and communication logs — and learn what makes each format effective. We focus on writing that is objective, specific, and purposeful, with strategies for fitting meaningful documentation into real-world schedules without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
