Vintage Black Canada™ is a Multidisciplinary Creative Initiative Documenting the Transnational Modern History of Black People in Canada.

Join us on opening night for an exhibition of archival photography exploring Black families in the Southern Ontario region who have photographic records of their transnational identities and ways in which these identities have helped them create a sense of place in Canada.
Archival Black family images have for too long been absent from public archives. This exhibition seeks to fill that void, convey the importance of memorializing candid, joyful moments for Black families and provide a counter-narrative to how Black families are typically depicted in media.  Food and refreshments will be made available.
