                                      Downtown Dances Moncton – August 18th, 11:00am-2:00pm
                                         Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada with Kaeja d’Dance
 With a new downtown centre scheduled to open in 2018 the City of Moncton is beginning a process of community rebuilding in the downtown core. 
 
BRINGING OUR COMMUNITY TOGETHER TO RE-IMAGINE OUR DOWNTOWN
Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada is undertaking an artistic intervention to re-introduce our citizens to their downtown and to image what our downtown of the future can be. We are hosting award winning choreographers Allen and Karen Kaeja of Kaeja d’Dance of Toronto, who have worked in neighborhoods - choreographing real people in real places - to tell the stories of where people live every day. 
 CREATIVITY, COMMUNITY and BUSINESS COLLIDE IN DOWNTOWN DANCES
We are partnering with the City of Moncton and Downtown Moncton Inc. and all of our downtown businesses in a process that will reintroduce our community to the downtown in a completely new way through dance; envisioning our businesses and the downtown core as a vibrant, living creative entity rich with the stories of people who work there every day.

<LI>Employees will be choreographed by professional choreographers, Allen and Karen Kaeja and Igor Dobrovolskiy. </LI>
<LI>Main Street will be blocked off for the event.</LI>
<LI>Real people working in real businesses as well as our City Council are participating in dancing the story of our downtown to music in five locations on Main Street. </LI>
<LI>A crowd of downtown workers and community members will proceed through the Downtown led by two vibrant host who will explain the businesses and insert stories of our development as a City. </LI>

LEADING A COMMUNITY DIALOGUE
The walk ends in the beautiful waterfront park and is followed by a lunch on the Riverfront with discussion and input session on re-imaging our Downtown Moncton. This open dialogue process will be led by a skilled facilitator Amanda Hachey who will also compile the results. Results will be shared with the City of Moncton, Downtown Moncton Inc. and other stakeholders DOCUMENTING OUR INNOVATIVE COMMUNITY PROCESS
 This artistic community collaboration process to IMAGINE A DOWNTOWN is a first in Canada! The entire event will be professionally filmed to be shared broadly across the Country.
