Drapanki: Egg Decorating with Natural Materials
Join us for this hands-on and family-friendly spring craft and learn how to dye eggs with natural materials.
Learn how to dye eggs with natural materials, including fruits and vegetables that you can find in your own kitchen, or at Evergreen's weekly Farmers Market. Folk craft practitioner and Evergreen staff member Olivia Dziwak will demonstrate how to create beautiful colour without chemical dyes, and then how to decorate the eggs in the Polish folk style, called "drapanki" or "skrobanki".
Please note: small craft knives will be used in this activity.
Children under 14 must have parental supervision, and this event is not recommended for children under 9.
Please wear clothing that can get stained; natural dyes are safe to touch, but can rub off on skin and clothing.
Materials (including eggs!) will be provided.
