ArtengineOttawa, ON
Saturday, May 16  •  1 PM - 3:30 PM
Overview

A Cultural Critique Club with an aim to create a financial fund to support local Ottawa artists.

Drinks & Thinks

Presented by the Ottawa Black Arts Kollective and the Moving Art Gallery, join us at Artengine for the premier meeting of a new program aimed to support local arts projects.

Drinks & Thinks is a membership based cultural critique club that is aimed to gather people in real life to discuss Black culture, arts and the future of the Ottawa Black Arts Kollective; inspired by social clubs created by politically active artists during the Black American Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, this initiative is meant to create a fundamental pool of funds to support the artistic projects of OBAK members.

This first gathering is meant to set the tone of this continuous event series model; by engaging directly in community, OBAK aims to create a sustainable funding model for their members to benefit from to fund their artistic projects. Funded by the people for the people, this club acts as an democratic investment model to return value to its members in a feedback loop..

If you've been looking for ways to connect with fellow artists, talk about shared topics of interest and network to collaborate on projects in the future, register to be part of this movement!
