My child is not yet 6, can I still register?

Accepted Answer

We are not staffed appropriately to give individual attention to children under 6 years of age. Eco Explorers camp is designed for kids 6–10 years old. Your child must have turned 6 before they can participate in the camp.

Question 2

What if our child misses a day of camp due to a vacation or change of plans?

Accepted Answer

We get it! Plans change. If you are not able to attend, please contact us two days prior to the day of camp and your order will be refunded. Please make sure to notify us in advance as there is a waitlist in place. We are not able to provide refunds on the day of or after the fact.

Question 3

What type of facility is the Demo Garden?

Accepted Answer

It is located at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum. The camps are held outdoors. There is a picnic shelter with two picnic tables and four benches. There is a pit toilet on site with a hand-washing station. There is no drinking water on-site. Camp runs rain or shine. Please dress your child accordingly!

Question 4

Do you have staff trained to accommodate special needs?

Accepted Answer

There are physical activity components in each camp. All participants are required to take part in all activities as a group. We do not have the ability to provide one-to-one instruction or support for individual needs. Our staff has First Aid Certification as required by WorkSafe BC.

Question 5

Can my child attend if they have mild cold or flu symptoms?

Accepted Answer

Since this is a group camp, we suggest that your child stays home for the safety of other participants and educators.

Question 6

Do you offer before and after care?

Accepted Answer

No, we are unable to provide supervision for children who are dropped off early or not picked up at the end of camp hours. If you are more than 15 minutes early or late in picking up your child, registration for any future camps will be cancelled and refunded.

Question 7

Why are there multiple events with the same theme?

Accepted Answer

We run our camps on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Each week we change the theme and activities. If you book your child for two days during the same week, they will do the same activities both days.
