EcoFest: UofT B.E.E.S. Candle Making Workshop

The University of Toronto Beekeeping Education Enthusiast Society (U of T B.E.E.S.) is a four year old student run club which focuses on educating people on the importance of urban beekeeping. As stated in our constitution:"It shall be the purpose of U of T B.E.E.S. to allow students and community members an opportunity to learn about the age old tradition of beekeeping and the role that bees play in sustaining a healthy ecosystem. We seek to highlight the importance of urban beekeeping as a means of encouraging the survival of pollinators responsible for the existence of many plants. U of T B.E.E.S. also provides a unique opportunity for students to connect with nature, learn about the process of honey creation, and participate in the production of local food."We host bi-weekly hive visits during the beekeeping season (May- until early November) and host a variety of other educational and social events throughout the year. We now manage three apiary locations at the U of T St. George Campus (i.e. Trinity College, Earth Sciences Building, and the Faculty Club). University of Toronto Beekeeping Education Enthusiast Society

Bring your friends and join U of T B.E.E.S for a candle making workshop! We will be using bees wax to create beautiful candles that you can take home. First Nations House is located left of the Koffler House when entering Bancroft Avenue. Check out the map below!
Choose between: two (2) 250ml/8.5oz 100% genuine beeswax candles or one (1) 500ml/16 oz. 100% genuine beeswax candle. 
We will provide molds but workshop attendees are welcome to bring their own glass jar (An average mason jar equals one (1) 500ml/16 oz. 100% genuine beeswax candle). Please find us at the event so we can approve your jar size.
