Event description

Are you someone who loves to explore data and wants to do good for the community? Then join us for this exciting Datathon hosted by Data for Good - Edmonton.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be working with the Edmonton Community Foundation ( Bring your data skills and get ready to dive into the datasets that will be made available for analytics and visualization.

Accessing the Foundation can be tricky!!! Our address is 9910 103 St, but you access the building through the alley, south of 100 Ave, between 103 and 104 street. Do not go down the hill on 103 St!

On Friday November 24, at 4:30 PM, just before the start of the Datathon, we’re hosting a workshop on data analysis. Participants will learn to use more powerful data analytics tools (a step up from Excel). If you already manage data for your charity or organization this is a great opportunity for you to advance your skills, and a great way to get ready for the Datathon!

We do not assign you to a team. We want you to work with the data and objectives that you feel most passionate about, so come Friday with an open mind and be ready to learn.

You do not have to work with the same team for the whole weekend. Again, we hope that you will find a project to work on to completion, but if at any point you feel like you want to change simply let us know.

You do not have to stay for the entire weekend to participate in the event. We hope that you will find a project you can dig into, but you are always welcome to come and go as you please
