A virtual program of events commemorating the abolition of slavery across the British Commonwealth on August 1st, 1834.

Emancipation Day commemorates the abolition of slavery across the British Commonwealth, including in Canada, on Aug. 1, 1834. Please join us in celebration of this historic event.Our virtual program of events will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm, followed by an in-person celebration at Rochford Square in Charlottetown, PEI. To attend the any of the three virtual events, simply click the event link at the appropriate start time.
