A somatic movement journey blending breath, yoga, dance & qi-gong to release tension, reconnect inward & feel fully alive.
Most of us are moving through life from the neck up — managing, achieving, producing. The body follows along, carrying a weight that we might not notice directly but it could manifest in tension, stress and anxiety.
This is a space is about creating safety required to explore letting the body lead. Rather than letting the mind demand the body into a shape or a movement that you see or think, we will go inward to explore allowing the body to take any shape or form that it chooses.
Physically the practice borrows some movement from yoga, dance, qi-gong and incorporates breathing techniques. However instructions are a guideline, this class is about free movement and finding your own inner voice and the movement that is being asked to happen. Somatic movement starts from inward. Somatic means sensing from the inside — not how the body looks, but what it's carrying. When we slow down and give that place our attention, something in the nervous system begins to settle. Held tension softens. The body, given space and safety, knows what it needs to release.
As we start to explore movement from this place you might experience a deep sense of release or relief - finally some space to breath, some room to be curious. You may arrive somewhere unexpected — open and activated at the same time. Soft and fully alive.
No experience needed in any of these practices. No right way to be here. Come as you are. You're body has been waiting for this.
