EmpowerED: Embracing Acceptance

EmpowerED: Embracing Acceptance

Southdale Community CentreWinnipeg, MB
Tuesday, Mar 3 from 2 pm to 3 pm CST
Overview

(IN PERSON and ONLINE) Explore how acceptance can reduce emotional overwhelm, build resilience, and support overall well-being.

U-Turn Parkinson's presents EmpowerED: Conversations for Living Well, a monthly, free educational series designed to support people as they age. Each session focuses on practical, empowering topics that help individuals maintain holistic wellness and make informed decisions—physically, emotionally, financially, and socially.

March's topic is "Embracing Acceptance", brought to you by the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Acceptance is about noticing and acknowledging situations as they are, even when they are difficult or uncomfortable. It does not mean liking or agreeing with what is happening; instead, acceptance helps reduce suffering by letting go of the extra stress that comes from fighting reality.

Participants will explore how acceptance can reduce emotional overwhelm, build resilience, and support overall well-being. Practical strategies are also introduced to help recognize resistance and respond with greater clarity, calm, and self-compassion.

EmpowerED: Conversations for Living Well is made possible with the support of Cambrian Credit Union.
