Encaustic Demo
This demonstration will cover what encaustic is and safe working temperatures; appropriate fusing tools; basic studio ventilation and tips for workspace setup; appropriate encaustic grounds; how to prepare a surface using encaustic gesso and the benefits of Ampersand Encausticbord; suggestions for equipment, including the heat gun; methods and helpful hints for working with encaustic; fusing and surface effects; additional techniques (i.e. collage, stenciling, inlay, accretion, image transfer, and monotype); and clean-up of materials, including brushes and palette.

She has taught workshops throughout the United States and internationally in The Netherlands, Ireland, Switzerland, and Greece and received grants from the Maine Arts Commission and International Encaustic Artists, as well as a Tending Space Artist Fellowship from the Hemera Foundation.
