Energy Efficiency - Implications for Nonprofits

Established in 2003, theEdmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations(ECVO) is a nonprofit organization and registered charity whose mission is to strengthen, serve and support the nonprofit sector in the Edmonton region. Our main purpose is to fortify and sustain the nonprofit sector in Edmonton by supplying access to leadership, programs and services. We understand that the work performed by various nonprofits across Edmonton greatly benefits our communities and the people who live in them.

Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (ECVO)

The Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (ECVO) and the Pembina Institute invite you to participate in a half-day workshop where you will learn about energy efficiency initiatives and programs implemented by nonprofits in other centres in North America. The Pembina Institute will walk you through these programs and highlight the successes and other learnings from these programs. You will also learn about the latest developments from the Alberta Climate Change Office including its' plan to involve nonprofits in helping to shape energy efficiency programs. 
Members of the Alberta Energy Efficiency Panel will be in attendance to hear your thoughts and ideas on the types of energy efficiency program options that would help your organization transition to a low carbon economy. 
What you can expect during the workshop:

<LI>Hear the lessons and success stories from other jurisdictions</LI>
<LI>Learn the latest developments from the Alberta Climate Change Office and how it plans to involve nonprofits in shaping energy efficiency programs for the sector</LI>
<LI>Share with the Alberta Energy Efficiency Panel, your thoughts and ideas on programs and supports that will assist the sector to transition to a low-carbon economy.</LI>

9:00: Alberta's New Energy Efficiency Initiative presented by Jesse Row, Alberta Energy Efficiency Alliance:  Opportunities for engagement and input, how to prepare for energy saving programs
9:20: Non-Profit Experience with Energy Efficiency presented by Pembina Institute: Non-profits in other jurisdictions that have benefited from energy efficiency programs - the enabling factors and the challenges.
