<DIV><SPAN>Do you like rooms? Do you also like escaping from said rooms? Welcome to </SPAN><STRONG>Escape the Jam</STRONG><SPAN>, an informal one-day exploration of technologically mediated Escape Room puzzles brought to you by Electric Perfume, Little Dada and the Hand Eye Society! We're going to explore some basic puzzle design concepts, have a few speakers talk about the possibilities of using technology in Escape Rooms (featuring a pair of headphones which allows the user to "hear light" and an eerie object NFC reader), and jam on some puzzle ideas together. Possible topics for discussion: What makes a good Escape Room puzzle? How to create puzzles that are consistent with the theme or narrative? What can technology such as augmented reality, sensors, pressure plates, lasers and digital audio/visual components bring to the player experience, as an alternative to stagehands and Sudoku?</SPAN></DIV>
