Gender-based violence is all around us — and the reality that family violence, femicide, and sexual assault rates have gone up over the past two years makes action more urgent than ever. To help, the Canadian Women’s Foundation created the Signal for Help — a simple one-handed gesture that can be used to reach out for support without leaving a digital trace. Join for a special session on how you can help as a Signal for Help Responder, to learn more about gender-based violence, and to learn how to respond and support someone facing abuse in a safe, supportive way.
What to Expect:
This event features a structured workshop and a Q&A style panel discussion diving into the topic of gender-based violence in a safe and judgement-free space. This event is open to all folks from all walks of life and is an all ages event. All proceeds from the event are being donated to the Canadian Women's Foundation to support their mission to achieve gender justice.

Meet Our Workshop Facilitator:
Pamela Di Pinto
Pamela Di Pinto (pronouns, she/her) is the manager of the Signal for Help campaign at the Canadian Women’s Foundation. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, located on Treaty 6 territory, her decade-long career spans roles in journalism, corporate communications and, for the last six years, non-profit communications supporting women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Her professional and personal experience includes work with teen mothers, women battling cancer, women re-entering the workforce, teen girl mentees and, most notably, women and girls in the greater Edmonton area through the YWCA. She is passionate about building community, particularly elevating female voices and experiences towards gender justice.
