Exploring Victorian Photography in a historic 19th-century mansion, with spirit photography, a live demonstration, and spooky photo-making
Experience the haunting world of spirit photography at Exposing Ghosts - Exploring Victorian Photography, presented by FLASH photographic festival and Dalnavert Museum.
Discover the fascinating history behind the Victorian era’s most haunting images, from staged apparitions to supernatural portraits. Enjoy an engaging presentation and witness a live demonstration. Please remember to bring your camera, and try creating your own spooky photographs inside and outside the atmospheric Victorian mansion.
Housed in a beautifully preserved 1895 Victorian mansion, Dalnavert Museum offers a rare opportunity to experience history from the inside. Its period architecture, historic interiors, and collection of late-Victorian and early-Edwardian objects provide an evocative setting for exploring how people of the past understood photography, memory and the supernatural.
This Culture Days event is free, but space is limited so please register in advance. Dalnavert Museum will be accepting donations. Donations help to preserve Dalnavert Museum's unique collection, present engaging exhibits, and develop partnerships and programs.
Doors are open at 6:30pm - come in, mingle and try the evening’s feature cocktail, the “F stop”. The presentation will start at 7pm.
