Fall Roots and Berries

Jill has an extensive background in herbal medicine and is an expert in nutritional health and wellness.She trained as a medical herbalist in the UK and is a member of the UK National Institute of Medical Herbalists and The American Herbalists Guild. She received her Nutrition degree in London, England and is a member of the Ontario College of Dietitians in Canada.

Jill is delighted to be working with Katey and Nathan at The Herb Garden to bring you a series of five workshops that will introduce you to four seasons of herbal wisdom.
August Workshop: Fall Roots and Berries

We’ll take a walk and identify some common roots and berries

You will learn about harvesting and storing plants for the winter. 
</LI>
<LI>
We’ll talk about how to make syrups from berries such as rosehips, elderberry and sumac.
</LI>

You'll learn about preparing and decocting common roots, such as dandelion and burdock. 
</LI>
<LI>
You’ll taste a delicious hibiscus, rosehip and ginger tea blend.
</LI>

The Herb Garden is a place of sanctuary with beautiful old world barns and charm. Katey has created a labyrinth on the grounds which you are welcome to walk.
