What is Falling Walls Lab?

Fallings Walls Lab is a component of the larger global Falling Walls Conference, which takes place yearly in Berlin, Germany. The Lab is an international pitch competition with finalists from over 80 countries. Each participating location hosts their own local Lab, with local applicants competing for a chance at the final pitch presentation in Berlin, Germany.

The Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking is hosting the second annual UCalgary Falling Walls Lab this September 2019. Finalists will win a trip to Berlin to compete on an international stage at the Falling Walls Conference in November 2019. In addition to the pitch event, Falling Walls presents a unique opportunity for international networking, meeting potential investors and connecting with academics, entrepreneurs and game-changers from around the world.

The goal of Falling Walls Lab:

• Promote exceptional ideas
• Connect promising scientists and entrepreneurs from all fields on a global level
• Participants receive the opportunity to present their research work, business model, or initiative to peers, a high-caliber jury, and the public
