She has had the privilege of celebrating the stories of Women in Agriculture through her podcast, The Rural Woman Podcast, since 2019. With over half a million downloads, Duban has been able to reach and amplify the voices of rural women to a worldwide audience.

Erica Leniczek Mental Health Coach @thebranderica <h3>Validated: Reducing Stress and Practicing Psychological Safety in Agriculture </h3>With many industry unknowns, stress management and psychological safety are key to sustainability and the future of agriculture. Expectations, growth and workloads are unmanageable, and more people are leaving agriculture. Technology is at its best and there are so many resources, yet farmers are feeling a lack of connection and validation for their efforts. In this session, Erica Leniczek, a mental health expert and MA Counselling Psychology student, will share easy and approachable, mental health tools for you.  What you’ll learn: <ul><li>Tackling unmanageable workloads (without selling anything) </li><li>Identifying burnout and how to prevent it </li><li>Befriending anxiety and strategies to overcome it </li></ul> Erica works to reduce the stigma for help-seeking in agriculture and aims to help individuals feel supported navigating mental health through simple “in-your-pocket” tools.    Erica is a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology Student. She received her B.Sc. in Neuroscience, Psychology and Kinesiology and B.Ed. (with Great Distinction) in Science Education and Community Health. Erica is a crisis responder and has 15 certifications in various health and wellness fields that include but aren’t limited to certified personal trainer (CPT), certified mindfulness instructor, Mental Health (MHFA) and Psychological First Aid (PFA).

Geena Luckett Owner and General Manager, Luckett Vineyards  <h3>Old Meets New: Blending Previous Generation’s Experience and Learnings with Next Gen’s Ideas and Innovation   </h3>Combining old with new is not an unfamiliar concept, however it’s one that is unique to every farm or family business out there! Navigating and carving her way through a business and industry where her father was a vibrant trailblazer was no easy feat but, leveraging her outside experience, questioning the process, and introducing new thinking into her business has allowed her to establish herself as a female leader in a male dominated viticulture industry.  Follow along on Geena’s journey into the family farm winery and connect on how you can bridge old and new together through efforts with industry involvement, blending family dynamics and non-traditional succession plans. Geena Luckett is the owner and General Manager of Luckett Vineyards. Over the past decade, she has overseen the family-run Gaspereau Valley winery's continued growth while maintaining the Luckett-brand commitment to customer service and quality.  With vast experience in the wine and tourism industry in Nova Scotia and even New Zealand, she’s done everything from crushing grapes to planning epic events to managing an ever-growing team. Geena has made it her business to know Nova Scotia viticulture from the terroir up!  Always on trend, Geena has championed a new generation of Nova Scotian wine-based canned beverages, including the Hair of the Dog rosé bubbly and the recently launched Rockrose wine spritzer. She is always looking for innovation, new ways to grow, collaborations and partnerships.

In this session, Leigh will recap 2023 and present the FCC ag economic team’s forecasts of the economic and financial variables that matter in 2024.What you’ll learn<ul><li>How to navigate inflation and interest rate trends</li><li>Profitability projections for Alberta agriculture</li><li>Farmland value trends</li></ul> Leigh Anderson is a Senior Economist at FCC with experience in agricultural markets and risk. He specializes in monitoring and analyzing FCC’s portfolio, and industry health and providing industry risk analysis. In addition to his speaking engagements on agriculture and economics, Leigh is a regular contributor to the FCC Economics blog.Leigh came to FCC in 2015, joining the Economics team. Prior to FCC, he worked in the policy branch of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture. He holds a master’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Saskatchewan.

You’ve heard them all, but do you believe them? Evan Shout is the president and co-founder of Maverick Ag, a business consulting and risk management firm in Western Canada. He also sits as the president, co-founder, and lead coach at Farmer Coach, an education and coaching program for primary producers in both Canada and the US. These organizations fall under the Hebert Group of companies, including Hebert Grain Ventures, a 30,000-acre grain and oilseed operation in southeast Saskatchewan, where Evan is the Chief Financial Officer. In his past career, Evan worked as a CPA with MNP, an agriculture accounting firm in Canada, specializing in large-scale primary producer grain operations. He is passionate about improving farm business with a focus on human resources management, technology, data analysis, and financial and operational risk practices.
