Join the Floating Wind Challenge info session to learn how post-secondary students can design floating wind structures and compete globally!

<p>We are inviting post-secondary students (18+) enrolled in a Canadian university or college to put their engineering, design, and problem-solving skills to the test by creating a floating support structure for a Vevor 500W wind turbine. This is your chance to apply your knowledge, showcase your innovation, and represent your institution on a national stage.</p><p><br></p><h3>About the Challenge:</h3><p>During the 2026 challenge, participants will design and build the best floating support structure for a Vevor 500W turbine. This challenge promotes innovation and practical application of renewable energy concepts.</p><p><br></p><h3>Who Can Attend:</h3><p>This session is open to all post-secondary students (18 years and older) currently enrolled in any Canadian academic institution, including those in undergraduate, master's, and diploma programs.</p><p><br></p><h3>What to Expect:</h3><ul><li>Overview of the challenge objectives and requirements.</li><li>Details on COVE's collaboration with OffshoreWind4Kids, RBC Foundation, and the Nova Scotia Departments of Natural Resources and Energy.</li><li>Information on the competition date (tentatively scheduled for February 21, 2026) at RelyOn Nutec Canada.</li><li>Details on the opportunity for the winning team to compete internationally.</li></ul><p><br></p><h3>Important Information:</h3><ul><li>All participants must be part of a team (3-10 people). Individuals without a team may be matched with others, but not guaranteed.</li><li>Each team will receive a Vevor 500W turbine and $1,000 to cover materials.</li><li>All travel expenses to the test facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, must be covered by the participants.</li><li>The winning team will be awarded $10,000 towards participating in the global competition (location to be determined).</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Join us to learn more about how you can participate in this exciting initiative and contribute to the future of renewable energy.
