Meet Your Instructor: Lindsey Calhoun Hi, I’m Lindsey! I’ve been practicing yoga for 15 years after a physical therapist recommended it to me after a back injury. Soon after my first class, I knew exactly what was missing from my life. Not only did it dramatically increase my mobility, but also decreased the pain associated with the injury and also started to notice how much it helped with my anxiety. I became hooked! With increased curiosity about the yogic history and lifestyle, I took a an elective course in college about yoga philosophy. From then, I knew I wanted to become a yoga teacher and dive below the surface of just the physical practice.  In the summer of 2018, I received my RYT 200 from Common Ground Yoga. In the fall of 2018, I  received my Aerial Yoga teaching certification from the studio as well. I kept in touch with one of my teachers, Lauren Turner, and  was informed about the work she was doing, bringing yoga to Veterans and First Responders. I became really passionate about Lauren’s mission of Warrior Within Yoga because my husband is a Firefighter/Paramedic  and I have numerous Veteran/First Responder family members and friends. I understand how much pressure these people endure and I wanted to give back to this niche community.  As of March 2023, I became certified in trauma informed yoga and teach for WWY at Clear Path for Veterans in Devens, Ma. My style of teaching includes breathwork, body awareness, and healing. My hope is to help others find balance and peace within themselves. When I’m off the mat, I work as an Analytical Scientist and also have a side gig for a floral business owned and operated alongside my two best friends. In my spare time, you can find me hanging out at home with my husband/family, cat, and chickens. I love to cook, watch movies, read, and music! I look forward to meeting you :)
