Learn from a panel of experts about how futures and foresights approaches can be used to build climate resilience in Canadian cities.
* The event will be held in-person and livestreamed *
Cities around the world are increasingly planning for and responding to climate risks, trying to use long-term perspective to weigh actions today against a range of possible future outcomes that may take decades to materialize. Yet day-to-day demands and short planning cycles often make it difficult to look too far ahead.
While many solutions already exist, scaling them requires rethinking our approaches to governance, decision-making, and our societal values. That work begins with envisioning alternative futures and using foresight to try to imagine and anticipate what the future brings.
Join us on March 2nd from 12pm – 1pm EST at the Grebel Gallery for an engaging dialogue exploring practical tools and approaches to help cities envision and plan for more resilient futures. The event will explore what future climate risks cities face, what creative and design-based approaches exist for exploring future planning, and how cities can spark and support real change in their communities.
