Foundations of Cooking Program Info Session

Catholic Social Servicesis a non-profit organization that providesfree settlement servicesto over 14 000 newcomers each year. We can help newcomers to Canada find suitable housing, access healthcare services, improve their English, connect with their communities, and more. Our services are free and can be provided in over 60 languages. At this info session, you will: <ul><li>learn about this 20 week funded full time program called <a href="https://continuingeducation.norquest.ca/home/hospitality/foundations-of-cooking-training" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Foundations of Cooking </a></li><li>get pre-assessed to see if you are eligible for this program (eligibility requirements below)</li><li>Next start date: March 2020</li></ul>Please note there is only residential parking and no childminding. Foundations of Cooking Admission Requirements To be eligible for this program, prospective students must meet the following criteria:<ul><li> A passion for food and serving others</li><li>An interest in working in a fast-paced environment, with a varied working schedule</li><li>A current resident of Alberta, who is 18 years of age or older</li><li>Currently unemployed or underemployed – must be currently on EI, have been on EI in the last 10 years, or eligible for EI</li><li>Ready, willing, and able to commit 20 weeks to the training and participate in full-time employment upon completion of the program</li><li>The language level is minimum CLB 7 </li></ul>If you have any questions, you can contact Lisa at lisa.zhu@cssalberta.ca or call 780-391-3253.
