Do you have an active sales department?

Active sales, you know, when you have someone cold calling random people all day to pressure them into buying something they don’t need? That’s what people imagine when I call to ask if they have an active sales department. 

What actually happens is quite different. I have made a few new friends through cold-calling companies, two of whom have asked me to collaborate with their businesses. Hi, I’m Jessy, and the other person in the photo above is Sara; she’s a legend. The second time we met, she asked me a question that stabbed straight to the heart of the problem I was having generating revenue: “What do you sell?” I looked at her blankly when she asked. I had no idea. 

Sara then got papers from the surrounding tables, pulled out a marker, and within half an hour, I had a product I could sell and a roadmap for how to sell it. She turned my idea into a business with that question, and this Sales Academy is the result.

This Sales Academy is the result of that initial conversation and will take you through the same process she took me through, where you’ll answer:

  1. What you’re selling
  2. What’s it worth to your clients
  3. Who are your ideal clients
  4. How to connect with your ideal clients
  5. How to understand your client’s needs
  6. How to curate your solution to their needs
  7. How to make it easy for them to buy your solution

Questions are the secret spice of sales. You use them to find out if the person you are talking to would benefit from what you’re selling, and how it would make their life easier. They also let you say no to a client when you know the product isn't for them. It’s better for you and your company to say no to the wrong customer than let them say yes only to be disappointed.  

After this Sales Academy, you will walk out with a practical framework for communication and decision-making that will set you up for success, as long as you apply it.
