Join us for our first Free Press Fall Supper, an elevated version of a traditional fall supper with a multi-course dinner built around an editorial feature created by our arts and life reporters.Each reporter has chosen a locally produced ingredient to profile, from planting through growing and harvesting, for a feature story that will run in the Winnipeg Free Press on Oct. 2. (read the story here: https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/arts-and-life/food/celebratinghomegrownculinarycreations-575414082.html)Winnipeg chef Matty Neufeld has conceptualized a dish based on those ingredients, and has built a menu to complement that dish.The menuAppetizer: Fall harvest salad with cherry tomatoes, crispy beets, marinated cabbage, sunflower vinaigrette and red fife sourdough.Featured dish: Sunflower-oil-poached chicken breast with confit chicken leg and chanterelle tortellini, golden prairie cheese fondue, butternut squash, beets, toasted hemp seeds and sunflower shoots.Dessert: Prairie berry cannoli, maple-whipped ricotta, Saskatoon berry compote, pumpkin-spiced purée.Beer and spirit sampling included as part of ticket price.Proceeds from this event will be donated to Harvest Manitoba.NOTE: All attendees must provide proof of vaccination upon arrival, as per the current public health restrictions.
