The Free Press Fall Supper features a multi-course menu inspired by the recipes in the paper’s forthcoming community cookbook, Homemade: Recipes and Stories from Winnipeg and Beyond.More information on the cookbook is <a href="https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/homemade" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">available here</a>.This year’s Fall Supper menu is the creation of chef Paul Ormond of Lola D’s Garden Co-op — a boutique catering company that supports local causes through pop-up food events. A fine-dining chef by trade, Ormond worked at 529 Wellington, Sydney’s at The Forks and Sous Sol prior to launching Lola D’s with his partner, Kerri Stephens.Attendees will enjoy an upscale meal that creatively incorporates recipes submitted to the Homemade cookbook. $25 from each ticket purchased will be donated to Harvest Manitoba; a tax receipt for that amount will be provided to each attendee at the event.Nonsuch Brewing and Capital K distillery will be on hand to offer samples, and the Free Press&#x27;s limited-edition, custom-brewed beer made by Nonsuch will be available to purchase at the bar. (You&#x27;ll be one of the first to try it!)A silent auction with amazing prizes will be running throughout the night; all money raised from the auction will go to Harvest Manitoba.Menu:Hors d’eouvres: Fried polenta topped with feta, curtido and salsaFirst course: tabouleh served with raita, tandoori chicken, toasted almonds and herbs (vegetarian option: sub tandoori cauliflower for chicken) Second course: Fillipino pork belly adobo, candied sweet potatoes, mustard pickles and skillet cornbread (vegetarian option: sub agedashi tofu for pork belly)Dessert: Apple torte with toasted gingerbread crumble and blueberry syrup drizzleOrder of events:Doors open at 5 p.m.A short program will begin around 6 p.m.Dinner served around 6:15 p.m.(Note: Outside of samples prior to dinner, this event will have a cash bar)Parking and transportation:Parking is limited at the venue; there is no parking lot, only street parking.The Free Press is offering complimentary shuttle service via the Winnipeg Trolley Company from the Free Press building to the Ukrainian Labour Temple. Attendees can park anywhere in the Free Press lot (1355 Mountain Ave.) and the shuttle will pick up from the front of the Free Press building approximately every 15 minutes from 4:30 until 6 p.m. The ride is approximately 7 minutes in duration.The trolley will also be available at the end of the night to take you back to your vehicle.
