Funk Yo Self is celebrating the release of their debut album with a massive night of psychedelic funk, soul, jazz and boundary-pushing musicianship at The Pilot!

Hailing from the Outaouais, Funk Yo Self brings unassailable grooves and unstoppable live energy, blending psychedelic funk and jazz fusion with sounds reminiscent of James Brown, Jamiroquai, late-era Miles Davis and Lettuce.

Joining the party is Souls of Black Folk (SOBF Collective), an all-Black neo-soul collective dedicated to elevating soul music and Black musicianship in Toronto, plus a special solo set from flute virtuoso Anh Phung. Known for taking the flute far beyond convention, Anh moves fearlessly through everything from hip-hop and prog-rock to bluegrass and Bulgarian folk—using pedals, electronics and serious chops to take the instrument into another dimension.
