Fused Glass Coasters
Overview

Create a fused glass coaster inspired by the light & colour of our current exhibitions!

Fused Glass Coasters

Discover the magic of glass in this hands-on Fused Glass Coasters workshop at the Art Gallery of Mississauga.

Participants will create one fused glass coaster by arranging pieces of coloured glass onto a clear glass base. You’ll explore how transparency, layering, and negative space interact—drawing inspiration from the light, colour, and material presence found in the Art Gallery of Mississauga’s current exhibitions by Shaheer Zazai and Whyishnave Suthagar.

No prior glass experience is required. All materials and guidance will be provided by AGM staff.

Once completed, coasters will be professionally fired in a glass kiln. Finished works will be available for pickup at the Art Gallery of Mississauga once firing is complete (participants will be notified when ready).

Workshop Details:

  • Each ticket includes materials for one fused glass coaster
  • Suitable for beginners age 8+ (participants under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult because we will be handling glass shards with tweezers)
  • All materials provided
  • Finished pieces fired off-site and available for pickup later

Come play with glass, colour, and light—and create a functional artwork inspired by AGM’s current exhibitions.

Funding for this workshop is supported through chartitable iniviatives from Rama Gaming House Mississauga and Charitable Gaming, Community Good.
